Welcome to Little Monsters!
Little Monsters are the children who have turned one, are fully walking, eat table food, are able to drink from a sippie cup and are ready for a more structured schedule with diverse and stimulating activities.
Age appropriate curriculum helps advance your toddler’s social, physical, emotional and intellectual growth through hands on learning activities and exploration art. Toddlers learn concepts such as eating with utensils, being part of a group, taking turns, sharing, using manners, and expressing their needs.
Toddlers have their own dedicated outdoor playground, allowing for a flexible indoor/outdoor schedule.
Nap is one time a day from 12:00PM-2:00PM.

Welcome to the Caterpillars!
Our Caterpillars are between 24 and 30 months, not ready for potty learning, but ready to explore the world with more purpose and intent.
These children have mastered using utensils and a cup at meals and are ready for more challenges. Age appropriate curriculum helps advance your child’s social, physical, emotional and intellectual growth through hands on learning activities and exploration art, while focusing on sharing, taking turns, and being part of a cooperative group, as well as verbally communicating needs.
For both classes our Parent Engagement APP is updated daily to keep you connected to your child’s day.

First Steps Preschool participates in the federally sponsored CACFP food program and provides nutritional breakfasts, lunches and afternoon snacks. All meals meet or exceed federal guidelines and are served family-style, helping children to learn portion control, self help skills, and appropriate table manners. We are an equal opportunity facility. Parents are welcome to drop by to nurse or feed infants or join the “big kids” for lunch.
Please provide the following items for your Toddler:
- Diapers/Pull Ups
- Wipes
- Diaper Cream (if needed)
- Blanket for nap time
- 2 Complete changes of clothing including socks
- 2 Sippy cups
- *No pacifiers or Bottles Please!*
A Note on Clothing. We suggest dressing your children in clothes they can comfortably play in. Remember that children who are going through potty training, and even those who have mastered the bathroom, do best with clothing they can quickly pull down. While buttons and suspenders are cute, they are difficult for young children to undo when they realize they are in a hurry! Also keep in mind that we encourage children to explore, and things do get messy on occasion. We highly recommend clothing that is as washable as the kids! They will be painting, coloring, eating, and playing on the playground. While we do our best to keep the kids in smocks for art projects and out of really big messes, please understand that part of early children learning means they will sometimes “wear” their lessons.
